The organization was founded on the principles and recognition that educators play a vital role in development of a sustainable environment by considering environmental education as an underlying principle in changing people’s attitude and behavior. Live & Learn works with communities in Fiji to encourage individual and community attitudes, values and actions that are ethical and sustainable. Our priority is to support Fijian communities in sustaining their environments by improving practice.

Live and Learn Aims To

Encourage individual and community attitudes, values and actions that are ethical and sustainable.

Share knowledge, skills, learning experiences and resources with others for the benefit of the physical and human environment.

Promote action-based, effective and creative learning models and teaching methodologies.

Encourage networks and partnerships between schools, children, youth, teachers, governments, chiefs, elders, parents, the media and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

Promote the integration of the concepts of human rights, environmentalism, humanitarianism, culture, gender equality and peace in all projects and programs.

Climate Resilient Islands Programme (CRI)

The Climate Resilient Islands (CRI) Program is a multi-country Pacific program funded by the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade Aid Program and implemented by Live & Learn Environmental Education.

 
 

Atoll Food Futures (AFF)

A three (3) year development intervention to adopt climate smart agriculture technologies in vulnerable atoll populations in order to improve their food security and reduce the reliance on imported food in the Informal settlements

 

REDD+

Drawa project encompasses 4,120 ha of tropical rainforest on Vanua Levu, of which 1,723 ha is eligible for generating 18,800 carbon credits each year by measuring the forests and the emissions reductions which is measured as One tonne of CO2 emissions saved is equal to one ‘carbon credit’

Drought Recovery and Climate Resilient Project (DRCR)

Working in partnership with the Fiji Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Health and Medical Services, Live & Learn Fiji will provide training, assist with the development of climate-resilient backyard farming and agroforestry production, and help connect communities to markets.
