The Governance for Resilient Development in the Pacific (Gov4Res) Small Grants Initiative (SGI) is supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) with funding support from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), the New Zealand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA). The UNDP GOV4RES Project works with Pacific Island Countries to ensure that countries adapt their decision-making and governance systems toward more risk-informed development.

Under the GOV4RES SGI, Live and Learn Environmental Education Fiji supports the Ministry of Rural and Maritime Development in the implementation of water security projects in the Northern, Western and Central Divisions.

The project ensures the integration of risks into the planning and budgeting system, gender and social inclusion needs and strengthening community resilience.

The GOV4RES Water security Project outcomes are to:

Improve access to reliable, clean and safe drinking water in adequate quantities through proper water management, conducive infrastructure and security.

Improve health and social benefits.
